Cockerham Beer Festival

Amazing Beers, Home made Pies and Great Live Music…what could be better for a night out? Cockerham Village Hall management committee are supporting the North West Children’s Support Group in organising a fund raising beer festival on January the 30th and 31st. Beers from the legendary Pictish Brewery, Ulverston Brewing Company, with special beers from Lancaster & Old School Breweries and from further afield the Dunscar Bridge Brewery. Thurnham WI Programme for 2015 and 2014

Thurnham WI enjoyed an interesting programme during 2014 which included talks on bee-keeping, star-gazing, glassware and the Great Wall of China. In May, we had a coach trip to Skipton which included a very informative guided tour of Browsholme Hall on the way home, and we celebrated our WI birthday at The Crofters in October. We attended several events organised by other local WIs over the year, including a garden party-themed evening at Cherestanc WI (complete with hats!) and a talk on Great Railway Journeys in Pilling. Sing-along Christmas Carol Service: R...

BBC Radio Lancashire and Churches Together  present a sing-along Christmas Carol Service, “Lancashire Sings Christmas”, on Thursday 18th December 2014 from 7-8pm. So far 53 venues throughout Lancashire have registered to take part and sing-along to the BBC Radio Lancashire Carol Service. Our local venue will be Thurnham Hall. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served afterwards. Everyone welcome!

Class 3 of Cockerham Primary School would like to take you back to August 1914. War has just been declared and everyone is talking about signing up and doing their bit. As we approach Christmas 100 years on, come and join the children as they perform a spiderweb musical tribute to all the brave men, women and families whose lives were changed forever.
